Fresh Yellow Squash Casserole

1 lb. or 3 medium yellow squash, sliced thin with skins on
1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 green pepper, sliced or diced
1/2 c. onions, sliced or diced
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1 T. sugar
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Place all vegetables in sprayed 2-quart casserole; add butter, salt and pepper and toss to coat everything. Mix mayonnaise and sugar and spread over vegetables. Bake at 375 ° for 455 minutes. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is golden.
